Cadence Park Alchemist     Foals

Born Feb 2005.   Expected to mature 16.1hh+. Black gelding.

“Count” is a stunning true black gelding, by Jaybee Alabaster and out of our lovely WB mare, Satisfaction. He shows the super paces and renowned trainability of the his sire, Jaybee Alabaster, the 2003 Dressage with the Stars, ‘Champion of Champions’,  who was awarded 9.5 out of 10 for rideability by Arjen Teeuwissen! Jaybee Alabaster has since gone on to be runner-up for the Pacific League of the World Cup for Dressage, both 2008 and 2009 and has been named on the Australian Elite Squad and long listed for the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, USA,  2010. He was also named NSW Grand Prix Horse of the Year. Information on Jaybee Alabaster can be found at the Jaybee Farm website: http://www.jaybeefarm.com

Count was Sally’s first foal and was born on a roastingly hot day. The mare had plenty of milk but was so fascinated with new foal that she wouldn’t let him out of her sight long enough for him to get a drink and she had also retained her placenta. So we had a few tense hours at first but vet intervention soon sorted everything out.

Count’s paces are athletic and correct with plenty of rhythm and suspension, displaying excellent hock action and lovely freedom through the shoulder. His canter is particularly impressive, with a power and fluidity that will have plenty of scope for changes and pirouettes in the future. He has a ton of presence and personality and is just so quiet, sensible and easy going.

Email from his happy owner:

“Just letting you know that Count was an absolute angel on Sunday (his first competition). Walked on and off the float calmly, stood tied up at the float happily the whole time. Just watched everything around him excitedly. I just jumped on him without lunging as my friend was using my lunging gear. He just walked around calmly. He was just so amazingly sensible.

Thank you for breeding such a wonderful horse, and handling him so well as a young horse as I never had to break him in, I just did things with him and he has always just accepted things, which I think is cause he was so well handled as a young horse. As he gets older I think he will be a wonderful advertisement for your stud.”
